Founded in 1992 by Marc and Nancy Douglass in their home in Dunwoody, Georgia, Douglass Workroom was built on a simple belief: that true craftsmanship, carried out with care and integrity, never goes out of style. What began as a small operation has grown into a nationally respected workroom serving top interior designers with custom drapery, furniture, upholstery, and softgoods of the highest caliber.
Now a multigenerational business, Douglass Workroom continues to uphold its founding values—precision, collaboration, and a deep respect for the design process. Our team includes over 35 highly skilled artisans, from master upholsterers and seamstresses to carpenters and finishers. Together, we bring decades of experience and a shared pride in our work to every project that comes through our doors.

Marc and Nancy Douglass founded Douglass Workroom in 1992 from their home in Dunwoody, Georgia, with a simple vision: to create beautiful, enduring work with integrity and care. With over 50 years of combined experience in upholstery, design, and fabrication, the Douglasses built a reputation for excellence that continues to define the business today. Widely respected within the industry, they have shaped Douglass Workroom into a name trusted by leading designers across the country—one project, one relationship at a time.
Sam Douglass, son of founders Marc and Nancy, was raised in the workroom and brings a deep, generational knowledge of the craft to every project. He partners with master furniture maker Zajid Cruz, whose technical expertise and artistry have made him a standout in the field. Together, Sam and Zajid lead our custom furniture division with over two decades of combined experience, creating heirloom-quality pieces that blend timeless technique with thoughtful innovation.
With over 20 years of experience managing custom window treatments, Ceile Dukes leads our drapery division with precision, artistry, and an unwavering eye for detail. Alongside Chris Nurre and Megan Merriam, Ceile oversees each project from initial measurements to final installation, ensuring every treatment reflects the elegance and craftsmanship our clients expect. Together, the team brings technical expertise and creative insight to even the most complex window designs.
Our production team is the heart of Douglass Workroom—more than 35 skilled artisans, each bringing mastery and pride to their craft. From expert seamstresses and seasoned upholsterers to carpenters and finishers, every team member plays a vital role in bringing our projects to life. Known for their adaptability and attention to detail, they thrive on complex, custom work and collaborate in a familial environment where quality and care are woven into everything we do.
